Haymarket Hotel
This boutique Hotel owned by the Firmdale group can be found in a converted Regency-era building designed by John Nash on a small street off Haymarket. From the outside it just looks like a classical building but once inside, it is a fusion of the old and new.

I was here @ the Brumus bar and restaurant for a quick after dinner birthday drinks. The bar was quite dimly lit but you could see that in daylight it was a sea of pinks and purples. The dogs on the back of the chairs and bar stools added a touch of fun and quirkiness.

The drinks were on the expensive side at £11 for a cocktail and £7 for a non-alcoholic cocktail.

Anyway back to the rest of the hotel...

Kit Kemp has designed the interior to reflect a fresh modern English style. On the ground floor there are three spacious rooms that lead into one another, all with an individual look and style. The striking lobby in black, white and yellow, an elegant airy conservatory in shades of green; and the eclectically furnished library with clashing patterns and colours.

The Library Room
The lobby is home to a striking collection of contemporary art.

Stainless-steel sculpture by Tony Cragg
London landscapes by John Virtue
Pebble installation by Sue Lawty
Each of the rooms have been given an individual looks, mixing eras, colors and fabrics. There is no stuffiness here.

The Haymarket Hotel is a fine example of Kemp’s trademark design style: bold prints plus bright palette, with a quirky mix of contemporary and classical.
