Anyway, last Sunday it was amazing weather in London. Not too hot but very very sunny. Not wanting to miss the lovely weather the day started relatively early for a Sunday. Originally was planning to go to Brighton but got a bit lazy... so instead it was off to Covent Garden. A quick stroll down Neals Street and it was eerily quite when we got there at around 11ish.
Stopped by at a sandwich shop and ended up having a chilli con carne jacket potato and orange juice for breakfast! lol
Doesn't the juice look tempting in the sun! |
Covent Garden is a lovely part of London.
Alfresco-ing in the sun. Oh this photo is so British! |
The highlight of Sunday was W Leicester Sq. Decided to pop in and check out the place and it was a definate likey likey :) Just turned 2pm and afternoon tea was on the menu so decided to enjoy some tea and cakes @ the lounge bar.
Can't quite see in the pictures but there's a large black chesterfield sofa snaking around the edge with mountains of cushions in cream, silver and gold.
Don't you just love this designer fireplace, definately the best feature of this bar!
So what did I have here, see below...
I had the 'sweet tea' with scones and cakes.
The scones were lovely! especially the plain one. It was warm, light and crumbly and the icing on the scone was a 'sweet' touch which I actually thought made it taste better. The cornish cream was very light but soooo smooth and creamy. I would come back for these scones alone.
The sandwich was very filling and the chips were so tasty! yum yum
The W lounge bar is a nice escape from the hussle and bussle of central London. This is definately a hangout place to add to my list.
